HiP awards
NeoConnectFor over 50 years, NeoCon has showcased the crème de la crème of commercial design, bringing the entire industry together each June in Chicago. Pandemic or no pandemic, the show must go on(line). NeoCon embraced the power of the internet so that the commercial design industry could continue to share ideas and learn from each other in the age of social distancing.
As part of the online festivities, Interior Design magazine shared their annual HiP awards on Facebook Live. The event honors industry pioneers and innovative products. Interior Design’s editor in chief, Cindy Allen, hosted the ceremony from her armchair as viewers streamed the event from around the world.
NeoCon newcomers, OE Electrics, impressed the HiP Award judges. Two of their products were nominated in the Technology category. Cindy Allen announced OE’s contemporary power unit, Ply, as the HiP Award winner, calling it “gorg” and praising the patented replaceable USB charger.
The team of fresh thinkers at OE designed Ply to be both stunning and practical. Ply’s unique wood exterior adds a sustainable alternative to plastic or metal, and houses the world’s only replaceable USB charger; a stylish must-have for any modern office.
Arc-H creates a convenient wireless charging experience by transforming your desk into a wireless charger without having to drill any holes. The sub-surface charger mounts to the underside of your workspace, to keep you charged without the wires or the clutter. At the beginning of the evening, Patrick Jouvin spoke about how the best designs have beauty in how we use them. There is a beauty in how Arc-H seamlessly integrates charging into our lives, which is why the sub-surface charger gained the HiP Award Honoree seal.
